Miss Gay California America 2025

Truly Scrumptious has been captivating audiences for over 30 years with a unique blend of glamour, wit, and heartfelt storytelling. Entering the spotlight in Chicago, she cut her teeth in Gina Tay’s legendary Drag Race contest at Berlin. Her first time competing, she won lip syncing to Cybil Shepard’s cheeky I told You I loved You Now Get Out and Truly never turned back..

Born of her lifelong love of performance—starting with Auntie Mame 15—Truly’s artistry is shaped by theatre, cabaret, and pageantry. She has appeared in musicals, including La Cage aux Folles, taking the stage in cities as far-flung as Istanbul and Bangkok. She has witnessed the greats at Miss Continental in Chicago, “competed” as Miss Greece in Quest for the Crown (now Best in Drag Show) benefit, and shared her talent in countless cabarets and fundraisers.

Like other “royals,” Truly devotes time and energy to philanthropic endeavors. She helped produce LA’s first Red Dress Party, performed in Chicago’s Who’s That Girl? —which raised nearly $100K annually for LGBTQ+ and HIV/AIDS service organizations—and produced Love, Truly Scrumptious Style and Truly, Madly, Deeply, cabarets benefitting the Chicago Gay Men’s Chorus and Chicago House. She was honored as the Chicago House Volunteer of the Year in 2009. As Miss Gay California America, truly proudly uplifts the LGBTQ+ community through her platform, with a focus on supporting those living in isolation and seniors facing dementia.

With the support of her fiancé, Truly reignited her pageant fire in 2024, competing in Atlantic City’s Miss’d America Pageant and winning Vanity Halston’s Drag Star Challenge in Palm Springs. Brilliantly rejuvenated, she has now captured the title of Miss Gay California America 2025, earning the chance to represent her state at the Miss Gay America Pageant in 2026. By far the oldest contestant vying for Miss Gay California America this year and almost undoubtedly to be the most seasoned gal on the stage at nationals, Truly wears her crown as a testament to resilience, earned wisdom, and the power of lived experience.

With three decades of drag experience, philanthropic impact, and internationally celebrated artistry, Truly Scrumptious is more than a performer—she is living proof that drag is timeless and resilience sparkles as brightly as rhinestones!
